A free directory of businesses in Toowoomba and across the Darling Downs. As of October 2026 it lists 3,832 businesses in 306 categories across 100 suburbs and towns.
Toowoomba recorded the strongest year-on-year growth in people moving in from the capital cities of any council area in Australia in the March quarter of 2026, up 236% on the year before (Regional Australia Institute, Regional Movers Index, June 2026).
The region has grown 14% in 10 years to 186,276 people (ABS Regional population 2024-25), and is projected to add another 26,000-plus residents in the coming years (Queensland Government projections, 2025 edition). The new Toowoomba Hospital at Baillie Henderson is in main construction with 538 overnight beds, due in 2029 (Queensland Government, May 2026).
People leaving Brisbane for the range arrive knowing nobody, and the local carpenter, GP or hairdresser who has been here 20 years has no way to reach them. This guide is the bridge.
Toowoomba Regional Council, formed in 2008 from the city and seven surrounding shires. The guide covers the city on the range and its suburbs, Highfields and Crows Nest to the north, Oakey and Jondaryan to the west, Pittsworth, Millmerran and Clifton to the south, and the farming towns in between.
The Lockyer Valley, Southern Downs and Western Downs are not included, but may be included in future local guide releases.
Farming is the largest business group in the region, 3,581 agricultural businesses at June 2025, with construction close behind at 2,860 and property and rentals at 1,877 (ABS Counts of Australian Businesses, June 2025). Of the 17,994 businesses counted, most are small: the Highfields plumber, the Pittsworth mechanic, the city physio.
Every 24 hours, every website on the guide is scanned again to ensure accuracy, from a Highfields dentist to a Millmerran rural supplier. We won't remove a listing for a website that loads slowly, blocks automated visitors or times out.
A listing is removed only once the business is confirmed as no longer operating, or the owner tells us it has closed. Licensed builders and trades show the number matched to the Queensland QBCC register. Claimed pages go first. No business pays for its place.
Up from Brisbane? New to Toowoomba starts with week one: a GP, a landscaper for a bigger block than the one you left, a mechanic who knows the lay of the land, town by town.
Marlowe Bennett runs this guide. He founded Coastworks AI, a Queensland consultancy that builds websites, email marketing and AI automations for small businesses, after 30 years in service businesses, and he pays for the guide and runs the system behind it.
That system scans every listed website each day; anything it cannot verify itself waits for Marlowe and his team to check. Nothing on a listing is influenced by Coastworks AI. Questions about a listing go to [email protected] or 0495 039 007.
Which listings are offered to Google, and how a listing is added, checked, claimed, fixed or removed: how this guide is built. The same guide runs in other regions, built the same way: all the local business guides. Business owners can also ask for a free Growth and Automation Audit of their own website.
The same daily-checked guide runs in other regions, built the same way by Coastworks AI.
